Taurus Season: Celebrating Spring
Welcome to Taurus season, where we yearn to return to what is simple, tangible, and true. When the complexities of humanity at large are just too much for one person to bear, it is time to pull our energy back in and feel the Earth beneath our own feet.
Taurus Conjunction
To initiate this process, we have the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Taurus. On the world stage, this can bring interesting and unexpected Earth shifts like earthquakes and volcanoes. The energetic signature of these powerful geological events can also manifest in our personal lives to add movement to stagnant areas. Instead of that energy catching us unaware, it is a great idea to intentionally move some earth by looking at the areas of life that need a change.
Luckily, the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Taurus gives us the tools to do just that by expanding our understanding of what is possible within our local environment. What simple new thing can you do that adds value to your life? Maybe it is planting a garden or enrolling in a dance class. Maybe it is cutting out caffeine, slowing our thoughts and our pace, and committing to a more embodied, less mind-focused experience.
I also am pulled to point out the Grand Earth Trine between Ceres in Capricorn, Lilith in Virgo, and Jupiter/Uranus in Taurus. Ceres and Lilith are underscoring the need for Earth healing, grounding, nurturing, and reconnection. Go outside barefoot as much as possible this Spring. The Earth is calling us back to our bodies! Lilith, in particular, is asking for a review of our habits, rituals, diet, and daily influences. Purifying our physical and energetic ecosystem is of utmost importance as we become increasingly sensitive beings.
Help from Pisces and Aries Planets
We also have a bit of help from Mars in Pisces (sextile to this conjunction), which has us acting on our intuition and creative impulses a bit more than usual. And Saturn in Pisces is making sure that those intuitive hits and creative impulses are grounded enough to withstand the test of time.
Additionally, Mercury retrograde conjunct the North Node in Aries is nudging us to return to factory settings and rediscover the divine essence that fueled inspired action as children. What used to spark joy . . . before society and cultural conditioning taught us to invest in career and accomplishment above all else?
Chiron and Venus in the later degrees of Aries are healing the wounded child and encouraging us to reclaim those interests, activities, and values that fed our souls.
The Scorpio Full Moon
This Pisces, Aries, Taurus environment sets the stage for the Scorpio Full Moon. With the pull to return to yourself, return to your body, and return to simplicity, we are also being asked to look at what might be holding us back. The Scorpio Full Moon may reflect where we have trouble letting go, where we are reluctant to give up control, where we make life too complicated, where we have financial issues, where we fear others’ power, where we fear our own power. A Scorpio Full Moon can reveal a lot about ourselves and our deep psychology that we’d rather not see. But the deeper we go, the greater the rewards.
The ruler of this full moon is Pluto at two degrees of Aquarius, which creates a T-Square to both the Sun in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio. For the next couple of decades, Pluto will be moving through Aquarius transforming technology, societal structures, and cultural norms. It will ask us all to leave the old behind and lean into new humanitarian values and the cutting-edge of what we think is possible.
Pluto is now challenging both the Sun and the Moon to relax the grip on what we thought we needed to feel secure. We need to dig a little deeper and discover that an eternal source of power is within us . . . and is not threatened by external circumstances. Perhaps that is why there is so much focus on a return to Aries energy (during this eclipse cycle). If we retrace our steps (thank you Mercury retrograde) we can recapture that childlike faith in our own divinity.
A Return to True Power
Recognize the false sources of power that you have been clinging to. Let them fall away. Feel the I AM power in your body. Know your own significance. Put your feet in the dirt. Play like a child.
Tarot Cards: The Two of Mirrors, reversed (pictured upright) and the Four of Scrolls
The Two of Mirrors reversed: A watery reflection is the perfect card for a Scorpio Full Moon. In the upright, this card is about merging with another in partnership, romance, or contractual agreement. It symbolizes the idea that relationships tend to reflect to us the quality of our energy. They have the potential to be beautiful synergistic systems of giving and receiving love. But in the reverse, this card speaks to the projection of fears, insecurities, and suspicions onto another. This usually happens when we have fallen under the spell of separation consciousness, which then gives rise to competition for resources, victim-perpetrator consciousness, social hierarchies, and harsh judgments and comparisons.
The underlying message here is to return to self-love before addressing external circumstances. The Two of Mirrors reversed is adding an exclamation point to the symbolism of the current Aries transits. Mercury retrograde conjunct the North Node is signaling a return to our original divine spark, while Venus conjunct Chiron is inviting deep healing through love of self.
The Four of Scrolls
This card is an answer to the question of how to return to self-love. It advises us to get really still and really quiet . . . long enough for the mental chatter and uncomfortable feelings to subside. Eventually, instead of identifying with the endless thought loops, we identify with the divine, eternal witness. The girl in this image didn't grow rainbow wings. She simply remembered them.
With Love and Moonlight,
Ann
