Capricorn New Moon in a Piscean Dream

Chart for the New Moon in Capricorn, January 11, 2024
January 11, 2024

Here I am with another “late” energy forecast. It took some emotional stamina to push past the feelings of guilt and finally sit down to write. Capricorn is one of those energies that sometimes weighs us down with expectations of strategy, determination, and achievement. The grit to do what needs to be done.

But there is something about that energy that just wasn’t working for me today, so I punted and turned to the tarot for a more right-brained approach. The Ten of Mirrors.

This glorious card reminded me that the ruler of this Capricorn New Moon

is in Pisces. Dreamy clouds, creative ribbons, and hypnotic mirrors speak to Piscean realms, and the "ten” represents Capricorn achievement. But what kind of achievement are we now aiming for? Past definitions no longer apply. With Pluto at the 29th degree of the sign, this energy is being transformed, and a new understanding of this archetype is emerging. Saturn in Pisces tells us that the new Capricorn is focused on spiritual discipline, ancient tradition, and cosmic wisdom. What affects one affects the whole. The rainbow dove in this card is affecting ten mirrors simply by holding a small central ring. That is the truth for all of us. It would bring us to our knees if we knew how much impact we have on the people and environment around us. To take it even further (why not?), the mirrors represent the prismatic nature of reality. We are not only affecting the world we can see but also the infinite multi-dimensional unseen realms. The New Moon in Capricorn is a gentle reminder to respect the seen and the unseen, to take full responsibility for our actions, to make space for divine timing, and to let achievement unfold naturally.

Interestingly, the Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “A Relay Race.” This New Capricorn energy acknowledges the interconnectedness and the interdependence of all. The sea-goat can still climb mountains, but instead of racing to the top with an “ends justify the means” approach, it will patiently assist others along the way.

This theme is also at play as the North Node and Chiron move closer and closer together in Aries. This impending conjunction will be healing our separated identities as we elevate what it means to be a “self.” (A bit of foreshadowing for the upcoming eclipse season in Aries/Libra this Spring.)

With Love and Moonlight
