New Moon in Scorpio Opposing Uranus in Taurus

Chart for November 13, 2023
November 13, 2023

Sun, Moon, and Mars in Scorpio highlight our sense of personal power while Uranus in Taurus highlights our desire to break free from the fear of its loss. Maybe we were promised money (Scorpio energy), and now there is uncertainty about whether we will receive said money (Uranus in Taurus). Maybe we are grappling with a delicate topic or a secret (Scorpio energy), but it is unexpectedly revealed before we are ready (Uranus). Maybe we want to get a mortgage (Scorpio energy), but economic volatility is presenting a challenge (Uranus in Taurus). Maybe we are dealing with medical issues or even end-of-life planning (Scorpio), and unforeseen variables arise (Uranus). Whatever the case may be, the basic struggle is the same: How do we maintain a sense of personal power without relying on external, material stability?

Fortunately, Pluto and Neptune are offering some support. Pluto in Capricorn is helping us decompose old structures and institutions that profit off our fear and dependency. And Neptune in Pisces is helping us dissolve the illusion of separation. In this way, we are reminded of our inherent oneness, which opens a vast source of infinite power. This is the irony of the old Darwinian competition for resources and the survival of the fittest mentality: the more we fear, the more we compete, the more we separate, the less power we ultimately have.

This New Moon message is clear but counterintuitive: relax our grip to find our power.

Easier said than done, but with Mercury in Sagittarius, we have access to a broader, more philosophical understanding of our situation. This is particularly helpful because Mercury is in a tight sextile with Venus in Libra, which is lending us a feel for what is objectively fair and just. So whatever Uranian surprises or impulses come our way, we are asked to hit a pause button, remember that interconnectedness is our power source, and from that space, determine a wise course of action.

Tarot Advice:

Again we see the Ten of Stones. It is an appropriate card when navigating the Taurus-Scorpio axis. You may want to refer to the last blog post for the Taurus Full Moon Lunar Eclipse discussing this same card.

Where is our power? Are we still anchoring it in the material realm? If so, we put ourselves in quite a predicament as this realm is inherently impermanent. An impermanent, fragile power source will always result in fear, competition, suspicion, separation, and endless grasping.

Spirit (via Uranus in Taurus) is emphatic that we must release our reliance on the ephemeral world. Either we can do that consciously with full presence, or potential Uranian shocks and surprises may force our hand.
